12/2 Dr. Jian Zhang Day in SF

San Francisco Celebrates Leadership and Community Service: December 2 Declared Dr. Jian Zhang Day

On December 2, 2025, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution declaring December 2 as Dr. Jian Zhang Day in honor of her remarkable contributions to the City and County of San Francisco.

Dr. Jian Zhang, CEO of Chinese Hospital, has spent decades advancing quality, culturally competent healthcare for all San Franciscans. Under her leadership, the hospital has strengthened community health services, guided bilingual COVID-19 education and outreach efforts, and played a vital role in enhancing patient-centered care across the region.

During the Board meeting, Supervisor Chyanne Chen introduced the resolution and presented Dr. Zhang with a Certificate of Honor, recognizing her ongoing commitment to patient care, community wellbeing, and public health leadership. Supervisors from across the City joined in celebrating her work, highlighting how her efforts have made a lasting impact on the community. Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown also shared commendations during the event.

This official day not only honors Dr. Zhang’s dedication, but also serves as a reminder of the powerful role that compassionate, visionary leaders play in building healthier, more equitable communities. This recognition reflects not only Dr. Zhang’s impact, but the power of leadership rooted in service, integrity, and community accountability.

Congratulations, Dr. Zhang, on this well-deserved honor!
